The traditional curve ball is a 10-4 curve ball. You have to do some work and practice to throw a 12-6 curve ball. This type of ball will appear as if it drops from top to bottom. When a player tries to catch this ball they would first stand up and then sit back to catch it. Such will be the curve of this ball. To start with you have to grip the ball as you would grip a two seam ball. Your index finger and the middle finger should slide over the seam. Bring them both closely. Your thumb should be at the bottom and slide it till you hit the seam. Your forearm and shoulder should be at 90 degree angle when you throw the ball. Make sure that you are throwing the ball at under 70 mph. when you throw the ball, push up the thumb and snap down the fingers. If you throw it correctly you will be getting that curve. You could also snap your wrist if you want to give a big curve.
