Morning sickness usually starts anytime between weeks 1 to week 12 during the pregnancy. Some women have morning sickness throughout the pregnancy and some do not even have it. Usually it starts after the 3rd week of pregnancy. The hormonal changes that happen in the body are the main culprit for the cause of morning sickness. The levels of estrogen in increased hundred fold during pregnancy. The stomach is also relaxed due to the increase in Progesterone which also increases the morning sickness. Apart from these hormones the presence of the hCG hormone is also believed to be the root cause of morning sickness. A person who suffers from morning sickness might not eat well and they will be too much sensitive to smells. The severity of morning sickness varies with person to person during pregnancy. Researchers believe that it the natures way of keeping women from eating foods that are not healthy of the baby. So when a person suffers from morning sickness they can have any food in small quantities if they like it.
