Formatting the hard drive will erase all the data in your computer and hence it is necessary to backup all the necessary files before you proceed with formatting. Make sure that you take a backup of the documents, photographs, any games that you need, the drivers needed for the hardware installed in your system, and any software programs that are not in CD but only in your system. Create a boot disk from your system and then you can use this boot disk to reboot your system for formatting. Before that make sure you have taken backup of all the important data. Insert the boot disk in the CD drive and restart the system. Press the necessary key to go to the BIOS setup and make sure that your system boots from the CD drive. Now reboot the system. Upon booting the system will come to the DOS prompt. Now type the command ?format 😕 to start formatting your hard drive. Follow the prompt to complete formatting.
