Killing the ants found at home can be done in many ways. You have to choose the one that suits your requirement. In houses which have babies it is harmful to use the pesticides to kill ants as the babies may take any object to their mouth. In other houses you can use the insecticides if needed but it should be the last resort. You can use pile of instant grits which is a corn product on the path of the ant colony. The ants that eat this product will die soon as this dehydrates them quickly. You can also use a mixture of dry yeast, sugar and molasses and place it on the path. When the ants eat this, the yeast produces gas and it will kill the ants since they cannot release the gas.

Bendiocarb, boric acid or chorpyrifos can be used to be dumped in the colonies of ants. This would kill them easily. Commercial baits are available for killing the ants. Borax, Drax, Maxforce, Pharoid, Ficam, Baygon, and Pro-Control can be used for this purpose.
