There may be time when you cannot fix some problem in your system and you might be willing to reinstall the windows XP operating system. This can be done in two ways. The first one is to install XP by being in windows XP itself and the other option is to insert your windows XP CD in the drive and booting the system with it.
In the first method, you have to just insert the windows installation CD and you will be taken to the Windows XP page. Click Install Windows XP. In the next screen you can choose ?upgrade? for the installation type and proceed with the installation. Just follow the instructions and complete the installation. While doing so you might be prompted to accept the license agreement and to give the product key too.
In the second method, insert the Windows CD and restart your system. Press any key to boot from the CD. The program prepares your system for installation and then you have to press Enter to proceed with the setup of Windows XP. Options to repair the system are also available with the Recovery Console. This is what you need now since you already have windows XP in your system.
